Skype problems

I'm a frequent skype user. Recently, on both my laptops when trying to call phones, an error message usually appears and skype shuts down on me. It has been working fine when calling to computers. But when calling phones, it often shuts down on me. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the program but the same problems persisted.

Has anyone had similar problems? Any advice? In the coming months I will need the call phone service more than ever before and the lack of reliability really bothers me.

i use skype but havnt tryed the call phones coz it costs money so im not sure bout this but if you have to store the money on there have you run out?

No. I have money in my account. It's not the problem. Something technical is happening and it's causing Skype to shut down on me when I try to place a phone call.

Can anyone suggest any other very cheap internet calling programs (I'm primarily calling from Japan to North America)?
