hey i just replaced my hard drive, and now i want to leave my computer on at night say, if i have a large dl. but after about half and hour the computer will "shuts down" where it stops making noise, and i have to press the keyboard to wake it up.
And when i do the welcome screen pops up and if i had a program running when it went down it will say, one program running ect. Is there any way to stop this? i tried on pref making it so it doesnt go to sleep, theres a box there that says password protect on return, and i disabled that.

any one know? this didnt happen with my old harddrive.

On the desktop, right click and go to properties. Click on the screensaver tab, then the Power button. It'll give you some power schemes and also give you 3 timing settings. The first one will shutdown the monitor which doesnt affect download, just saves on the electricity bill ;). The second one turns off the hard drives, which will stop the downloads, as will the third option, System Standby. Mkae sure the last 2 are set to "never" and then you can set the first one to whatever you like. Then press the save as button and give your power scheme a name. Apply and OK. this should solve your problem
