SLI and DLI

SLI is the dual GPU solution from NVidia... It's good for crazy gamers... but ive never even heard of DLI.

I am wondering how well the 7900GT will work will all the new games coming out... so I figured if things got out of control fast and my comp couldn't handle it... I could get the 2nd one! But not sure what the SLI or DLI does!

Trust me, you are talking about SLI, it will just add an identical card to work with your first one. DLI probably stands for some mundane thing like Direct Load Interface or something, and has nothing to do with graphics cards.

SLI will allow you to run two identical Nvidia vid cards at the same time to get better graphics power. They are bridged together and act as one. You need an SLI motherboard as well.
DLI I have never heard of.

As others have said, SLI is when your using two or more identical video cards working together.

DLI is Digital Library Initiative, according to wikipedia.

DVI is digital visual interface, its another way of plugging your monitor into the card and vastly improved upon the previous. It maximises the digital displays of monitors like LCD's

Dual link means you can attatch two monitors to the same card

What game are you trying to play? If your going for a benchmark for "Today's games and the future" I would check out "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion". This may help : http://www.gamespot.com/features/6147127/index.html?autoplay=6147082 . Oh, and btw, I know for a fact you can run Obliv w/ a 7900gt on fullspecs (w/ distant lands on) w/o ne problems. Well, that is, if you have a good enough processor. (Pd, P4, a64 x2, ect..you may even be able to pull it off w/ a a64 3700+, but I don't know) You really don't need to spend the extra money on SLi, I would just wait a year, then when the prices go down, upgrade to SLi, if they don't come out with a new interface by then, lol (pcie x48 anyone? lol)

i believe with oblivion even the 7600gt will struggle when all of the possible extras are put on in the graphics choices.

add anti aliasing and maximum distance, plus all the other bits and bobs and it will struggle. To be fair theres not a lot that can handle everything oblivion can throw

I like how Maggot included the "P4" in the list of fast enough processors to run Oblivion on max settings given a good enough vid card, yet the A64 3700+ is a "maybe." Yeah, I know, performance varies a lot on the P4 spectrum, but nonetheless, I found it funny.
