SLI and upgrade

Simple question. Currently have an Evga GTX 570. When I bought this, I had never plan to run 2 cards.

I just bought a MSI GTX 570 Twin Frozr III for $150.00 (couldnt pass it up)

Bought it just for a backup or re-sale if needed but now I have been thinking about adding it to the system.

I know I will have to upgrade my PSU.

But here is the question:

Is it ok to run dual cards of different brands? Will it effect anything?

Other than PSU, is there anything else I will need to upgrade to see the performance of dual cards?

Realistically the Seasonic should be able to handle it but you'll be pulling more than what it's rated for by about 50w-100w, and efficiency will suffer because of that.

I would recommend a 650w or higher PSU, but as before, without overclocking the cards, your PSU will handle it.

Yes, you can run different branded cards without a problem. And no, you shouldn't need to upgrade anything else as long as you have an SLi board.

As said before. Once you get to 100 posts, I am thinking of selling my 570, might be able to cut you a deal...

Thanks Claptonman, but got the second one already..

Excuse the lack of knowledge as I am still learning about this stuff... but how can I tell if my board is capable of SLi?
