SLI compatibility

Hello,

I was wondering, seeing I just was forced to change my order at the computer shop I am buying my computer from because one of the parts I ordered was the only one they had and someone stole it right from under my nose or something else. And now I desided to cross brands.

I originally chose two 8800GT's from Xpertvision (was putting on different coolers anyway so what brand doesn't matter, I chose the cheapest), one of which I chose new and they happened to have a DEMO model. Meaning they had put it on display behind a glass cabinet, so basically there is nothing wrong except that it's been out of the box a while thus costing me 30 bucks less... And I ordered it but when they cross referenced orders apparantly someone ordered it before me (or whatever story suits them).

So now, I chose an XFX 8800GT ( PV-T88P-YHF4 ) to replace the demo model. And seeing they are both reference models (as they all are), and all 8800GT's have the same set of available drivers etc. etc. I can assume to expect that the XFX won't beat up the Xpertvision for being a cheapass or something.

Am I correct and will they work or am I a moron and will they start fighthing over which brand is the best...

As long as both cards have the same specs (memory size, memory type, clock speeds, etc), then they will be fine together in SLI (I believe).

They're both completely standard clocked models, same amount of memory (same sort of memory, I have no clue O.O) so as far as I know; They should work.

They should work fine. I,ve learned if you have two cards with different core and memory speeds it always runs more stable if you install the slowest card in the top main PCIe X16 slot
