Sli Help!!

Hello all,
I just installed 2-evga 8800gts's and i cannot get sli to enable. I am replacing an xfx 8800gts, do i need to do something regarding drivers, i just took out old card and installed new cards, they both seem to work, however gpu-z says sli is disabled yet available. i did enable sli via bios, and have installed the sli bridge.

Did you install the latest drivers from Nvidia.com? If you haven't done so, that is probably why it does not work.

Or go to the Nvidia settings that are probably on your toolbar, and select Enable SLI

Make sure both cards are full functional, because if one of them is dead.....

just downloaded latest drivers via evga, where in nvidia controll panel?

Install it, after you have done that, when you right click there should be an option for the Nvidia control panel.

its in the Nvidia control panel under 3D Settings > Set SLI Configuration

that is not an option under 3d settings just
adjust image settings with preview
manage 3d settings
monitor temp levels

Are you sure the other card is work and you have connected everything including the Sli bridge on the side? Because it looks like the drivers are not recognising that you have another card plug in, so shut the computer down and make sure that everything has been connected securely before trying again.

Do you have them both attached to your PSU?

yes. psu has 2-6 pin pcie plugs. I also attached the sli bridge. does that have to face a certain way?

I really don't think so, you can try it if you want. Check all the pins on the SLI bridge and the bridge part of the chip to make sure they aren't bent or missing
