I might order a pc from cyberpowerpc.com the pc i want is $1,300, but it has a SLI board, it has an intel proccessor, here is the question I only have enough money for 1 video card but the board is SLI will it just run 1, and if it will will it downgrade the computers performence any?

Hey

SLI gives you the option to have 2 graphics cards which could be seen as making it more future-proof. However, by only using one PCIx16 slot, you will not notice any drop in performance over a board that would not be SLI capable.

May I ask why you need SLI? I've seen the benchmarks, and the mutlicard solution is just not worth it. SLI only boosts performance in high reselutions, and that's about it. Personally, I don't think it's worth the money two buy SLI or Crossfire, your paying two times the price for about half extra performance.

I agree totally with your thoughts. SLi is basically just for the people that want to be able to say "I got 15000 on 3dmark0?" Not worth the extra money. Not that having an Sli motherboard is bad, as you can upgrade later when your card drops dramatically in price, and you know that it will help enough for the money invested.

Not only sli scores high in 3dmark but it controls the chokes, graphic lagg. And with sli, games will be taking advantage of it.
