i have 2 evga 7800gtx's. one i bought last year with a bf2 bundle p/n 256-p2-n538-ax. and i recently bought another p/n 256-p2-n525-ax. different p/n as you can see but they have the same specs, clock speeds, mem clock, etc. are all identical. p/n is the only difference. can i still run sli? i thought of this just before i was about to open. that way if not i can still return to newegg for a refund.

yes it will still work, you could even have different brands and it would still work

are you sure on that? i always thought it had to be of the same brand..

no it just has to be the same model no matter what brand so basically what u have 2 7800 gtx i think there memorie must be i dentical tho i dont think u can have a 256 and a 512 7800 together quote me if im wrong

yeah, you're right. with recent drivers it doesn't make any difference one way or the other. i THINK you could even pair two different cards (of the same GPU) together with different clock speeds, although when run in SLI they would run at the slower clock's speed.

Crossfire:
You can pair up e.g. a X1900XTX and a X1900CF, but the X1900XTX will run at the same clock speeds as the X1900CF.

SLi:
You have to have to identical cards when it comes down to the core. A 256Mb version of a GF7800GTX will not work with a 512Mb version of the same card.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
