Hey yal,

I've spent my whole life always buying desktops/laptops, so I conjured up the courage to build one. I know that with a lot of the Mobo's being SLI capable, I was wondering if you guys could please recommend me one that is good for graphic design (CS3 of course), video editing/formatting, and of course games (WoW consumes lives!!!). Price range anywhere from about 100-300, and looking for DDR3 preferably and planning on running a 64-bit OS with about 8GB of ram (don't know what kind!!!) all with a Intel Q6600. Feed back would be very much appreciated!!

Thanks, 5.0

8gigs of ddr3? that will be up to $600 for medium quality sticks. if i can suggest it, (in other words if you will look past any preconceptions,) you would be better off getting a motherboard with an Intel chipset (sorry no SLI but crossfire is as good or better). They make motherboards that will support ddr2 AND ddr3 if you really want to upgrade later on.

8GB of ddr2 1200mhz or 1066mhz is still blazing, and more then you will ever need.

Lovely,
LOVELY!!!!!Thanks for the info, and possibly saving my pocket alot of doe and grief in times when the economy is this bad. I was looking at the ASUS but what Intel Chipset is better? the P45 or the X38? I want something I can run atleast two decent/good video cards on.

daisymtc,
Thanks alot for the info. I think that im going stick with a SLI config. I am currently using a 8800 GTx Super OC edition and I love it. I also think im going to run the Antec 1000W Limited Edition (white and black psu), because its on sale at new egg for 119.99!!! At Fry's it was 249.99, so ima jump on that.

Thanks, 5.0
