it only takes one card to do dual display. it takes additional equipment to equip a third monitor, because, in sli, the other cards are in a sort of passive mode, and they cannot send video information out of their vga and dvi plugs

even the primary card can only do one monitor output while in SLI

it says right on the SLIzone web page

so even if your two SLI cards have a total of 4 monitor hookups, you can only have one monitor on them

the only mobo's i know of with 3 16x pci express slots are the evga and the asus, which are $229 and $299 respectively

give it a few months if that's too expensive

SLI and CF are different tough.. SLI can only have 1 monitor when its enabled,. for dual monitors? add a cheap PCI card,. that will be enough already :)

word, i use a PCI x1300 for my 2nd and 3rd display, and it's fine

i don't play games on mulitple monitors, but it's more than enough to watch a video, or simply have a photo open on the secondary monitors

nothing wrong with that :)

with a quad-core processor, 6 gigs of ram, and 3 8800's, could you theoretically play 3 games at full tilt on 3 seperate monitors? :)

Might be interesting
