slideshow not clear on TV

I have made a slideshow of my digital photos, which all were shot with high pixel & looked very clear in the computer, but when I burned it to VCD and played it on TV, the pictures were not as clear as on computer. Any one can help me solve the problem. Thank.

To start with here having worked on a good number of vcd projects the quality of display is lost when compared to that seen with a data dvd created for this. On pc the display resolution is lower and seen with a different signal output. When going to display this on your tv are you then using it as a monitor or using an external component dvd player common for a home entertainment center?

When going from your standard monitor to a tv it can be compared to stretching a bitmap(bmp) file out from a minimized window to full screen. You suffer a degree of signal degradation. When viewed on your system you are often viewing through some type of window. That will see the improvement in contrast and clarity there. On a tv you have to take into account the full screen and type of display.

The software being used there prepares the slide viewing for pc display primarily while videos seen on vcds are compared to vhs standards. The_Other_One is correct on vcds being at 352x240 for NTSC format.

"VCD display resolution is 352x240 pixels (NTSC) or 352x288 pixels (PAL), approximately one quarter of full TV resolution (720x480 for NTSC, 720x576 for PAL). VCD video is in MPEG-1 format; audio is encoded as MPEG Layer 2 (MP2); video is stored at 1150 kilobits per second, audio at 224 kbit/s. Overall picture quality is intended to be comparable to VHS video, though visual artifacts may be noticeable in some cases." http://www.zeropaid.com/news/6075/VCD,+SVCD,+and+DVD,+what+they+are+and+how+to+burn+them.

To give you example of common problems going from pc to tv focus on the desktop background when a bmp file is stretched is these two screen shots here.
For pc the common appearance is seen as http://img95.imageshack.us/my.php?image=currentxphomedesktopaf6.jpg

For how the same would look when shown on tv note the pixelation seen when enlarged for viewing a still there. http://img263.imageshack.us/my.php?image=playpreyag0.jpg

You will have to ignore the icons and other items to see how the background itself has degraded when seen on a larger display at the same resolution. Still photos seen on pcs can retain their original clarity while the loss for them shown on tv is noticed immediately.
