well..... i went to a local comp shop today and asked a guy about computers that play flight sim x.... well... he said a guy came in one time and got 1400$ of just graphic cards, hew got dual ultras for that game... and he had 3 20" widescreen lcds, 2 to act as side views... i am not gonna go to he extreme of getting three monitors, and i will only be using a 19 inch widescreen.... and i have now decided to get 2 cards going as well.... but i cant decide how much better the ultra is and is it really worth the 400 more(together)... any ideas?? and bout how many fps i can get on flight sim x when in the cities with each??

A 8800GTX is way enough for flight sim X on a 19 inch .... you don't need SLI at all. Furthermore I would say you're good off with a C2D E6750 maybe less, and 2gigs of RAM. I suppose the game is gonna run like hell with this machine.

do you have any knowledge of slight sim x?? you know that its a pretty graphic sucking game right?? you sure a single gtx is enough?

what motherboard do you suggest to use then, preferably one that can sli 2 gtx's jsut incase

just to add... i would like to see around 60 + fps on everything set to high quality.... maybe gtx not enough now or still enough?

I'm sure. The requirements for the game are soo low compared to the system you would use. Even Lost Planet and Bioshock would run on this computer with maximum details, and they need a lot more than flight sim X.

I would use a MSI P6N nForce680i SLI, one of the best choices what concerns SLI Boards. But I'm sure you don't need SLI.

hahahah oh... yeah, i nkwo what you mean... i saw the min requirements myself too... but EVERYONE that owns the game knows the the min require should actually be 5 times more powerful than the offical min requirements written on the box

And they are 5 times higher with this computer ;)
The game was released in 2006 back in these days you didn't even get a 8800GTX or a E6750 :)

One thing to consider is that if your using Vista as an OS they have alot of problems with the drivers in SLI mode. I'm running 2 8600GT's and can't use SLI unless it's with XP.Just some info I thought you might want to know.

My friend is order parts for a computer this upcoming week and is getting dual 8800GTX's. (Although I disapprove, SLI is a waste of money imo)

From Toms hardware charts it appears the 8800ultra is only a 1% increase in performance over the 8800GTX. SLI theoretically would increase that margin to 2%, but costs about $200 more.

yo dude, I have a 8800 GTX and have played bioshock on my 22" monitor at full everything, (1680 x 1050) it runs fine!!!

Tomshardware has been scrutinized plenty on the trustworthiness of their reviews.. But truth. 8800ultra is an utter waste of money.
