Hi,

I want to try out the product below, however due to problems in the house (Its a listed building so i can't just place Ethernet cables everywhere), I have a wireless router in one room, however the TV and Satellite which this device needs to be plugged into is in a totally different room :(

However, SlingMedia offer this little gem below:

Not really tried this "over electrical wires" internet, so am a bit reluctant to spend money on it. The electrical wiring in the house is up to code, but i believe the two rooms are on different circuits (how would i know for sure?).

So is it possible that i can some how feed the wireless signal from the Router into the SlingBox Solo? What devices would i need etc?

Thanks for your help :)

I use the Slinglink Turbo, across different circuits and it works fine for me. You can tell if you are on different circuits if you have two different breaker switches (or fuses) for the two different outlets.

You could also buy a wireless bridge to connect to the Slingbox and then wirelessly connect that way.

How reliable would this kind of connection be over Wireless? Obviosuly cables offer the most stabilty, but this would be constant streaming. My current network quite happily allows me to play internet games such as World Of Warcraft, Call of Duty and Counter Strike Source with very little if any 'lag' or issues.

This one strikes me as a good choice:

I personally like the Linksys stuff, that one should work fine.

Now you need to decide, Bridge or SlingLink. Don't you hate these knd of decisions. :)

The sling link is about £20 more than the Bridge, and I would have other uses for the bridge rather than the SlingLink. Plus I am a sucker for the classic tried and tested equipment :P
