OK well I have Windows XP Professional running on my computer and I uninstalled some updates that i'd had on my computer. At the time I thought this would speed my computer up but I was wrong. So I installed them back but now it runs slower than ever. And I havn't added programs or anything. I've checked for spyware and it can't find anything, I've done the DeFragger but that doesn't do much. I dunno what else to do, someone help me! Thanks :) xxx P.S I have 448 MB of RAM

do that and go to download.com and download "free ram xp pro", its a great program that frees up your ram

In case anyone was wondering, all those "RAM Optimizers" do is make themselves take up alot of your systems RAM (as much as you specified you want free), then Windows is forced to move programs that are taking up RAM, to the Page File. So after optimization is complete, you will have a slightly larger page file, but more free RAM. Also note that after you optimize, Windows is going to respond very sluggish, due to the fact that alot of Windows services are not in the Page File instead of RAM.
 
Well, after all that.. your registry is probably in pretty bad shape.. if you never done a registry defrag.. then it can even be worse.

So go to www.download.com and look for a free registry cleaner. Possible a free registry defrag tool also. Then run those two programs additionally with what has been said above.

You can also delelte your prefetch. Then if it doesn't work and it seems like you done all you can.. you can go to www.tweakxp.com too. But I will warn you that if you dont know what you are doing.. some of the tweaks can mess your pc up worse than it already is.
 
instead of him running this other crap, why do you tell him 2 run a virus scanner?

EDIT: what did you run 2 chak 4 spyware?
