Slow Computer?

Hey,

My computer has been getting slower and slower over the past couple of months and I am sick of it now. Can someone please give me links to FREE software that will make my computer run faster and so fast that I WILL notice a difference. Thank you!

That is terrible advice.


1)One thing you can go is make things stop starting up on startup. Assuming you have Windows XP, click on Start, then Run, then type in MSCONFIG, then go to your startup tab, and uncheck everything, unless you KNOW what it is and WANT it starting up. Unchecking anything in this tab can not hurt your comptuer.

Next go to the Services Tab, and click on hide all microsfot services, then uncheck any that you wont want, if you dont know what they are, i would suggest leaving them checked ,in this tab at least.


After doing that i would look for(or someone on this forum can recomend you one) a good registery cleaner.




If worst comes to worst you can reinsatll windows if you have the CD and CD key for it.
 
you have any viruese? perhaps you got too much programsn, so therefore, getting RAMs will hlep. Buit please, tell us what yor computer is...we have no lcue how to help you out :rolleyes:
 
Format your hard drive and reinstall windows. I expect your installation has become a bit clogged with old programs and various pieces of malware
