Slow download. Port configuration problems

I'm downloading slower lately on utorrent and i don't know why. Much slower. I think a program or a bad setting is closing my ports or something. I'm not sure what to do but I'm sure that my bandwidth can do better. Any help will be appreciated.

NOTE: Also utorrent is telling me that I'm not having proper incoming connection. I've done a port test and also it says that my port is not forwarded. What should I do?

I dont mean to be a d!ck but im pretty sure your not allowed to talk about sites like you torrent on here. Just a heads up.
 
I'm not talking here about torrents and illegally downloading, i'm talking about my damn bandwidth and why its so slow. because i mentioned about utorrent, that was just a specific example to make this situation easier to solve. cause they warned me about my connectivity. and i know about the rules here, don't worry about that.
instead of such replies, you should try to help, not to judge. judge only when its really needed. so, what is your opinion about my slow downloading? what should i do?
 
go to speedtest.net when u aren't downloading and do a speedtest and then compare it with wat your speeds should b

www.dslreports.com has a tools section there. You can do a connection test and a port test for free. Run them and see if they have any suggestions for you.

And no, it makes no difference if you are using dsl or cable. That site is for both.

You might have to forward a port to get it to work right, or just set up a DMZ on your router for that application.

Ok guys, thanks for your help. I wasn't trying to encourage illegally downloading,
I was just looking for help for how to open ports. Does anybody know how to do that?
