Slow fps rate

yes i no it is a older card, but geforce 2 and 3s are supported by the game, they are older so why isnt my card supported. Would overclocking it make much difference, is their any other way to make it perfrom better, if there is how do i do it.

Well, if you could provide me the specific requirements to the game, I can analyze it more deeply. What overclocking is, is pushing the hardware beyond it's preset limit, so if you have a warranty, this would void it on that specific device. This could help performance a little, but on such a dated card, I don't know. Certain cards like that may not even overclock if they have been locked, or if there is a lack of utilities for it. As for mods, there are certain mods for certain games, (usually only the popular ones), that make it run on older hardware. For example, my friend saw oblivion on my Xbox 360, and wanted to play it on his PC, well, it wasn't that new of a PC. Oblivion uses cutting edge graphics technology, and requires a graphics card with Pixel Shader 3.0, so I found a mod called "Oldblivion", which enabled it to run on his PS 1.1 card. I don't know if there are similar mods for this game, you'll have to check.

The system is about 3 years old i think, the game runs ok, except for the larger maps which have a slow fps rate, i did an analyze your computer test that comes with the game, it said that it can run the game, thanks for the help in advance

You fail the first requirement. Even though your GPU has all the technologies, and enough Video memory, the GPU is only Direct X 7 compatable. Even though you have DX9 c installed, your GPU still only runs Direct X 7.0. Therefore, your system is not fully Direct X 9.0 C comatable, and the game fails to run. The only way around this is to either get a new card, or find some kind of hack, which I doubt you can find to circumvent the system somehow. Sorry, but that's how it is unfortunately.

the game does run but i get slow fps rate on the larger maps, most of the smaller maps work fine.
Then you're luky it's even running. Sorry to tell you, but you really need an upgrade, that's all there is to it. That's a demanding game, which is asking too much from what you have.

ok, i will maybe think about getting a new graphics card, but could playing th game do anything to the graphics card

what card would you recomend i get, i would just like it to be able to play the game, as my computer is old and wont really be able to play many more new games, also on the first battlefront game, it says i need a 100% directx 9compatible computer but that worked fine with the system i have at the moment. So why is this game different.

You can play it because my guess is that you still have the DX9 libraries installed. However, those libraries are running on a DX7 based chip. The 5500 is great if you're looking to get a small ugrade, and a DX compatible updrade, an excellent choice, especially at that price point, nice link speedyink.

thanks for all the help, i am in england so i will see if i can find a place that will sell it. Are they easy to install? I am guessing all i have to do is take out the old graphics card, put the new one in and switch on the pc and install the drivers.

Absolutely, you shouldn't notice any substancial difference between that and the 5500. As long as is supports Dx 9 it's fine.

If I were you, I'd spend $10 or so more and get an eVGA or XFX, or PNY, some company I've heard of. These cheap cards often have buzzing noise issues, and don't last long, as well as have heat issues.

ok i will look again to find a more well known company that is cheap, i would like to keep it under £30 if i can

Ok, let me know and post a link if you find something, I can't help find one though, because I'm in America, and I don't know where you get your stuff though, I would help if I did.
