Slow laptop?

Hi guys,

I recently got a Toshiba Satellite notebook and have been playing some games on it, notably Warcraft III. Anyways, whenever I play it feels like the game is lagging, even though I have a strong connection. I figured it was because the computer wasn't meant to run games. Well, when I came home from college, my brother has the exact same laptop and he runs the game perfectly. I have all my settings on the game turned down and I still have problems running it. Any ideas what it could be? I could get you the specs on the computer I'm just not on it right now.

It's running Vista.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Feel free to move mods.

Thanks.

Some laptops can have different specs such as different GPUs(dedicated or not) additional RAM, and other minor differences. Are you sure the two laptops are identical?

make sure you have the side bars exited and i think a good disk defrag would help, most likely its taking longer to find data if you have more files i would predent, or if it gets ot try cleaning the dust out-good luck

The problem can also be caused if you have not enough free space on the harddrive to run it. If that's the case - free up some space.

Bump. Still haven't resolved this issue. Tried all the ideas already presented. One thing to note, I can play Counter-Strike (1.6) fine while I "lag" (my pings are fine) with Day of Defeat. Shouldn't they both run the same since they use the same platforms?
