Slow monitor.

Is there such a thing as a crt monitor that ghosts like lcds with slow refresh rates. Cause Ive notice, that my one of my crt monitors glows longer than my other one when I turn them off. So is one of my monitors acualy slow and can cause ghosting in games? Or is the one monitore that glows longer acualy better?

Glowing when you turn it off and ghosting are two TOTALLY different deals. And no, a CRT shouldn't ever ghost because they work in totally different ways.

As for one glowing longer, I suspect it's just a different makeup of the CRT. Different chemicals, heat, etc...

Ok so it wont effect gaming at all. The monitor that glows is newer so I suppose it is gunna be better. Thanks.

One is an emachine, eview17f3. The other is a insignia, c170. Both of them have the model 786n. They do look like the same monitor. Also one thing about the one that glows once turned off, it also has a very highpitched squeel once in a while. And I usualy dont wait for the sqeel to go away I just turn off the monitor and turn it back on and usualy it stops squeeling.

Hehe, well regardless you wont notice ghosting with CRT's unless something really major/odd starts to happen. As I mentioned, they just can't due to their makeup. Hehe, kinda like saying your LCD is squealing. Unless some electronics are about to burst in your LCD...ah, such complicated comparisons!

Your monitors, as you say, are probably identical, and should perform basically the same. Some monistors squeal...one of my OLD ones did really bad, but it always worked so whatever, eh? You shouldn't see any difference in performace untill one dies. Any thing that CRT's loose as they get older is their brightness, not speed.
