Small lan party

Well, lets see. Next weekend I am having a lan party at my house, with 12-14 people. I have a few questions to ask.

Keep in mind i have a fiberoptic 30/5 mbit internet connection.

-If a person cannot connect to the network by just plugging in my ethernet cables into their machine, how do you get it connect without an extra network card?

- Should i let my friends download updates (steam, or other games) from the internet when they are here. Or should I make them take care of it when they are at their house?

-Should i setup a network drive for everybody to take the files they need off of it?

thanks,

-dan

- Can a Dell XPS 400 ( 3.2ghz pentium d, 2gb 533mhz ram, 320 gb hdd, radeon x1600xt 256mb) run a 16 player battlefield 2 unranked server with ease? How about 16 player CSS server?

If the person doenst have a network ethernet card then they cannot be on the lan unless they have wifi and you have a wifi router.
Let them update at there house; saves bandwidth.
The network drive is totally up to you.
Yes, it takes hardly any processing power to host a server.

Yes, it takes hardly any processing power to host a server.

It takes Processing Power.

Just Hardly Any GPU Power.

If your going to use a Dedicated server, Which assume you are. . .

A Dedicated server Does Not to have too run the game, thus GPU is not being assessed.

All the Graphics are initiated on the Client PC's.

That Server should Run Both those Dedicated game servers with ease.
