Smart Phones really are smart

So I plugged in the charger to my cell phone and later went back to check on its status . I got a surprise, a message appeared on the phone, that this was not its charger and that I should use its charger to charge quicker. How did this phone know that I was using my old cell phones charger and not its charger ? I didn't think it mattered but apparently the cell phone is smarter than me, lol .

It can detect what amperage it's pushing from the charger. Newer phones you want at the minimum 1A, preferably 2.1 as that's what Quick Charging is rated at last I saw. What's really weird is when equal spec power bricks from different companies (LG and Samsung) won't charge the other brands phones as fast despite being identical amperage.

As above probably lack of amperage/wattage. There's a couple different versions of the qualcomm quick charge as well that negotiate higher charging rates.
