SmartTV vs Conventional TV

Needs to be as powerful as a PC and do what regular Computer does.
Maybe I'm missing your point. But conventional TVs don't have any PC power whatsoever and, even so, have a much bigger marketshare than smartTVs up today.
Because of that, it doesn't seem that increasing the PC power of smartTVs will increase their marketshare.

I mean, consider how long "Smart TVs" have been on the market, it's not a particularly complicated equation.

Also, the 'smart' portion is typically more cost-effective when facilitated by other streaming devices like Chromecast/Roku/FireTV/etc, negating any reason to pay a premium for 'smart features'.

The Smart TV's need to improve on their streaming quality and interfaces. A lot of the ones I've used (LG, Samsung) absolutely SUCK!

Sony had the Google tv that was pretty good with a 1.5GHZ CPU processor just like a PC but did not survive due to lack of flash player in the beginning and they added it later on when Sony Googletv owners started to bash the TV due the lack of flash player nobody wanted it anymore,it could have been a successes if Sony when first launched it in the market with flash player,
remember Sony advertised, you don't need to get a pc.

I never liked any of the features on a smart TV, I have a chromecast, appletv and a wdtv and prefer to use them over any features inbuilt as a smart tv.

I've got a Samsung Smart TV that is really annoying -- loses network at least once every couple of days (and it sits about 10' from the router), seems to be constantly updating software, and has generally useless apps. I have a Firestick on another TV several rooms away that performs much better!
