Long story short, I bought a Dell about a year ago - ended up rebuilding the entire computer aside from the processor it came with, which was an i7 920. Well I figured since I have the Dells case, the motherboard, the power supply, and the heatsink, I might as well just build the thing up again for a secondary computer - I'll I'd need is another hard drive and a processor. I was talking to my buddy though and he says it'll only fit an i7 9xx processor, which would suck because I'm not necessarily wanting to spend quite that much on a processor - the computer is basically gonna be for guests, so.
So does the motherboard that comes with a Dell XPS 435mt only run with an i7 9xx proc

Better off to junk it and build something cheap from scratch if it's going to be for a guest. Cause i'm pretty sure that'll be the only processor it supports.

its a socket 1366 mobo so you wont get a cheap processor for it.at least $250 for one.but in time they may come down in price
