I really want to get a Kindle Fire HD, but i would like to know a few things first if you could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. I would like to know if you can watch youtube videos and netflix on the Kindle? I would also like to know about Amazon Prime and if it's like or better than netflix. Thanks for your info.
 
I also prefer the Nexus 7 (own one) over the Kindle Fire HD. The only reason to choose KFHD over N7 would be if you require hdmi output.

The KF HD has a highly modified Android OS and cannot easily access the Google Play site where the bulk of Android apps are available. The Amazon app store has only a subset of the available apps while the N7 uses native Android OS with access to BOTH Google Play as well as the Amazon app store.

I can watch Netflix & YouTube videos on my N7 as well as videos that I ripped from DVDs. I can even watch my home satellite (live or recordings) on my N7 when I'm not home.

sounds like the nexus 7 is the way to go for what i want to do. i take the elderly to Dr. appointment and have tons of time to kill. would like to fb, check emails, youtube and netflix. are they easy to install? i'm quite computer slow if you know what i mean. thanks again!
 
Installing is easy- simply tap a button to install.

Is there wifi available at the Dr. Office? These tablets require wifi in order to access the web. There is a model of the N7 that can use cellular but that requires a monthly data plan subscription.
 
yes to the wifi

i take 6 elderly people to Dr. appointments and all but one go to the same DR. office. The Dr. office where i take 5 has free wifi because of the elderly patients and how long it take for them and as a consideration for the family member or helper who may have to do all the waiting. i just ordered the nexus 7. the newest one with the most power. so excited. will be back here for help. Thank you all.
 
very computer slow. i can't seem to find this answer anywhere. can you watch Net Flix on a Nexue7 Asus? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much`
