so i have no idea on how to build computers but my friends brother does and he's willing to help me put one together. Im either going to build a gaming computer or buy a barebone kit and upgrade it. I have around 900 (cad) too spend and that leaves me with around 150 for a good monitor. Is it possible to build a computer or upgrade a barebone kit so i can play games close to 1080p for my price range or no? I want to buy almost all or all of my parts at tigerdirect since everyone recommends the place to me.

Ill of course be doing more research on which parts to buy and ect, i just thought you guys could help get me started.

not sure what c.a.d. is and newegg is alsoa good place, i'm not gunna start throwing parts out till i know what the u.s.d. is so i know what the actual amount would be to me

I think cad is Canadian dollars. Just a guess. As for your build, I believe you should be able to build it for pretty close to that price, though I don't have any recommended parts at the moment. I also strongly recommend newegg.

yeah, you can get a pretty good build for that, a little over the usd, totaling 937 dollars, which i'd say save on what you can too get a good cpu and decent mobo combo, like a i5 2500k and a combo'd mobo for around 320-350, then a 5-600w psu for around 50-60, unless you want to crossfire or sli later then about 800-1000w, 8gb of ddr3-1600mhz ram for like 70-80, win7 oem builders disk 64bit version for 95, pick a case for around 50, then around 50 for a 1tb hdd, then you've got about 300 for the gpu, or monitor if that was included, but watch sales to get the best deals
