so i got hit with spyware...

well i may not be satisfied. even with the brand new computer, i am still getting internet attack atempts, pop ups, the same stuff with the dell desktop. what could it be? the only things that have been plugged into it is the wireless keyboard/mouse combo, speakers, and my flash drive. any ideas?

it worked fine at my house. then it worked fine at my grandma's house. i got to college, connect to the internet, and my wireless keyboard, then it started. but everyone else using the router is fine. so could it be in the wireless device thing?

it might be your ip address from the router or something some hacker might have got it and keeps hacking you sending you all this crap mabye a person using the router?

if it was the router, wouldnt it affect more than just my computer connected to the router? nobody else is affected by it.

I'm afraid I don't understand the situation. Which computer were we fixing these days? Your or college one?

sorry for the confusion. lets have a recap session

a week ago my dell desktop was infected with spyware. tried to fix it, but didnt work. decided to by a laptop. bought a laptop on sunday. worked fine at my house. took it my grandmas, worked fine. then took it to college. connected wireless reciever for mouse and keyboard( which was connected to the dell when it was infected). and connected to the internet at college. the new laptop was infected with the same spyware.

Seems pretty complicated.
If we're currently scanning/fixing your laptop, then I don't know what the problem is.
Are you running the fixes/scans when connected on college? If not, could you continue that way with this scan:

Please go HERE to run Panda ActiveScan 2.0
  • Click the big green Scan now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
  • Once the scan is completed, please hit the notepad icon next to the text Export to:
  • Save it to a convenient location such as your Desktop
  • Post the contents of the ActiveScan.txt in your next reply

i restored the computer back to out of box state with the cd's that came with it. it has been going strong all day without problems. so my guess is that it has to be the wireless recieving unit for the mice/keyboard.
