Can't wait to put it together, i'm gonna choose a case when i pick up the parts, probably an Antec DF-30 or an NZXT Tempest EVO.

what do you think?

Looks cool man, although I havent heard of some of those brands before. You should post pics and let us know what you think about your rig when its all together :good:

EDIT: Your last link leads to a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus Universal Cooler?

They are all very good brands.

Only thing I Would look at changing is the PSU, as OCZ make ok power supplies, but not great. Would sooner go for an Antec, Corsair, XFX, SeaSonic etc unit.

It is still plenty to power it, and still a great looking system :)

IMO OCz makes some awesome PSUs, I had the Fat1ty 550W, loved it.

When you can put numbers next to things, you can disprove opinion with fact. They are by no means bad units, but not "awesome" when compared to some of the offerings from brands I put above, but only with their quality units, for instance Corsair's GS units are just awful when you consider the previous standard of Corsair units.

there are much, much better units available than OCZ have to offer, and not all that much more expensive. For instance:

AASTII......how are the GS series form corsair bad? ive got the gs 800, and it is under rated. all the reviews on load testing say that its a great PSU, and is able to provide 800 watts at 86% efficiency, as well as rock out 1000 watts at JUST under 80% efficiency. what makes this a bad psu? its got all the cuircut protections on it, and with the system its running, it handles it very well at a constant 40c while under load. as well, the ripple effect is well below the required and standard for atx, and it never over heats.

The OCz has two Rails, both at 25A, combined would be 50A. The seasonic has a single 50A. Granted those aren't the only specs to look at, but I was informed by someone here that I should get more than one +12V rail.

I am saying compared to previous units. They are still good power supplies, but they aren't as good as the TX and HX units are (were) when it comes to performance. Price/performance wise though, it is an excellent unit

You don't just add the rails together, that is just the maximum load each rail can take before it will shut off. The 550W Fatal1ty has 450W on the 12V rail, so has 37.5A on the 12V rails

AAstii, oh, i see what your saying, and i do agree, although its a good psu, it isnt as good as the prior models. and to the OP of this thread, i would much rather have 1 single rail for a psu, over multi rail. seems and feels more safe for me since you dont have to juggle components in deciding what component to hook up to which rail. i think all corsair psu's have only single rail, but may be wrong?

Multi-rail PSUs are just as stable as single rail PSUs are, at least that is true for your higher quality ones, but then you shouldn't ever even be considering lower end models, so it is sort of a moot point.

Regarding Corsair PSUs, no, not all of them have a single 12V rail, your HX1000 has dual 40A rails

i agree that multi rail psu are just as stable as single rail ones, i wasnt implying otherwise. im more just stating my personal expieriance and prefrence, that single rails seem easier to understand since all the load is put on one rail and you dont have to worry about what component to put on what rail with multi rail psu's. what happens when say 3 rails provide 25 amps each, and one of those rails gets overloaded? with a single rail design, one rail has x amount af amps and thats it. throw whatever wherever, and so long as your not exceeding the amperage on that 1 rail, then for the most part no worries. im not entirly sure if this is factual, rather my thought process on the topic. but honostly, so long as the OP follows advice here and gets a quality brand, you will be good to go. if anyone would like to elaborate on the differences, benifets and cons of the single vs multi rail design that would be great for me as well as the OP and maybe others who read this. unless there is already something like that.
