So much choice..but money wise only the one shot - for a few years anyway! - Which printer shall I plum for...the EPSOM SX535? is standing out for me at the moment.

Price between £60 - £120ish...i would use it to print out dvd covers perhaps, the odd photo and word document.

Quality is key and ideally good with the ink. Not overly fussed with photocoping, fax etc..nice to have but really its the quality and inks.

Any thoughts PLEASE let me know.

Any Lexmark printer that uses the vizix ink which is cheap. I have the pinnacle pro 901 and I can get a twin pack of black for under $10 and each color is only about $11.

Personally I only go laserjet. It's just got so much more value because toner lasts longer

The trouble with the internet is THERES TOO MUCH INFO OUT THERE!!! PRINTERS!!

I have a canon IP4300. 5 yrs old..print heads need replacing etc etc clogged...happy to fork out a few quid for a new one.

Been recommended on here a newer canon model..dpi however appears to be the same ..9600 x2400...SO....will it be any better print wise.

Im not fussed on a scanner, photocopier..although for sake of a few quid happy to have one.

Price - around £80 or so....important thing is not speed etc its quality and ink costs. Also not too noisy ideally.

Thoughts please? What about the new Kodak 9 series..ok..over a £100 ..But gets these Which awards etc etc but then you look on Amazon reviews...Kodak 5 or 6 series etc..only 3 - 4 stars....SO..is Kodak any good?

Kodak is terrible. Avoid it like the plague.

EDIT: If you are printing covers on plain white paper and are not going to be printing directly on the CD look into the HP 6700 or 6600. the 932XL cartridges have a really high ink yield. Looking at just over 3 cents a page for standard copies.

Really Kodak wins 'these awards' etc...??

Sorry should of said...i def. would like to print onto dvd/blank cds..just like my canon ip4300 can do..aware the slightly newer canon model makes can also..just what gets me is the fact the dpi doesnt seem to be any better than 5yrs ago when i got my ip4300.

As simple as that A Canon - which seems to eat ink in reviews ive read.

Which type of canon? I mean...is it worth my spending say £80 on one..or £100...again, a scanner etc i dont desire...sd slot would be nice..and def. a tray for dvd/cd printing.

On the whole, i dont care how long it prints..its quality for me.

Reviews PLEASE..Epson seems like a winner..but then i read..no dvd tray option!! and the dpi appears on paper? lower spec than my aging IP4300!!!! What gives?

Lexmark?

I'd say, "get 'em while they last". I hear Lexmark is ending it's line of inkjet printers, though my sources (okay, it's online news) tell me that they will continue to make the cartridges for several years. You might get a discount price.

I've got an HP Officejet 6500 E709n - no complaints - it has wireless capability. I like it.
