Just like the title says. There are many mixed feelings about this game so please don't flame.

If you play post your realm/race/class/lvl

Me:

1. Chrommagus/drainei/shaman/80

2. Chrommagus/NE/death knight/60 atm

I mean, Blizzard managed to be successful with this game, that means it probably is a good game. I don't want to play a game that's good but that I would have to pay for it, I would get addicted to it too quick, and I don't even have money to buy the game to begin with... :P

Ya I didn't play for the longest time because of the price but I learned a way to make a bit of money playing. I buy crap lvl80s for ~$60 play them for a few months gear em up and sell them for ~$150. Certainly not gonna quit my day job but I like it.

Gameplay is too slow, if it were more like Diablo then it could keep my interest but fighting enemies one at time for weeks until you are strong enough to maybe fight 2 or 3 is just boring to me.

the way I see it your paying so much money that you could by a real game every 2 months instead of paying to grind

everyone their oppinion I gues. :) used to play WoW for quite some years. I didnt play it 24/7 or anything like that, just play it.
people can say its expensive, but when you look at most games, they only entertain you for about, say 12~14 hours (the single player of the average shooter I think) and you pay 60 euro's for one of those. if you look at it that way, its not THAT expensive really.

(and yes, I dont bother with playing shooters online.. there's jsut too many dickheads ruining it imo :( at least in WoW I can mess about a bit, without getting shot by a teammate for example. :) )

i have it, but havent been subscribed for about a year now.

stonemaul.... level 62.... char name motosaki. i was a troll mage. fire :P

i may play it again one of these days

I'll never play an MMORPG ever again. They don't reward tactics or game play skills, they only reward you if you put in 30+ hours a week. Which is not for me. I did play them when they first came out, Everquest 1 era and a bit before in Ultima, but after my time in on those games I was done for good.

Subscription Fees + Knowing I'd get addicted and dont have that much time turned me off.

I played a little bit. Not very much. I had a 28 Mage, 25 Rogue and 21 Druid. Couldnt make up my mind haha.

Wow most certainly rewards game play skill and tactics. End game content is 95% skilland tactics

I highly doubt that because half of the skill comes from trial and error, not from actual game play skills. I am sorry but MMOs are just clicking buttons and hitting hot keys, and I have played them all, I even played WoW once for like an hour at a friends house.

Trial and error = rewarding you for playing more. Trust me it is genius marketing since WoW has over 8 million subscribers paying out $15USD a month to play. 8milliong times $15 sure is a lot of monthly revenue. I wish they would go public I'd buy their stock.

Wows endgame content does require skill. You must know how to play your class to be successful. And raid bosses require precise tactics or you don't have a dream of downing them

well if you call sitting on your ass for 30 hours a week getting gear to raid end game content a skill....well then I guess our opinions differ.

I played several MMOs and all the end game content was the same. You did trial and error until you figured it out or you just hopped online and saw how some other guild did it. EQ 1 had no help from GMs, and the end game content was insanely hard, and if you died you lost all your gear and if you did not loot your corpse with in a matter of days, well you were then naked.

Go read up on the sleeper and see if you think that compares to any game play today. I have not played WoW that extensively but I doubt it is that hard. Once you learn the trick to beat the boss, and there are always a few tactics to take you win. It most likely still has the cookie cutter approach of Tank + healing + DPS which is nothing new.

Wow has really done away with the tank and spank bosses. Even if you have done a boss fight it is still challenging the next time

I mean dps is always relatively simple but there's a lot of planning and quick thinking to play a healer which is what I like to do. Tanking can be challenging sometimes but also pretty simple for the most part
