I mean dps is always relatively simple but there's a lot of planning and quick thinking to play a healer which is what I like to do. Tanking can be challenging sometimes but also pretty simple for the most part

So then you agree with what I am saying, LMAO. The tactics never change at all, which is why I liked EQ because there were so many different tactics, and different classes shined more on different end level raid content. Where as every MMO since then is a cookie cutter approach to tank + DPS + heal is all you can use.

Man I remember when we would do AOE stun and AOE DD tactics in EQ. My monk would no longer pull and split pulls, I would just grab a group of them and we would pound the crap out of them with AOE.

It's a GREAT game. I've met some fantastic people and played hours with them. I'd love to play again and devote some serious time to it but my lifestyle just doesn't have time for it anymore. I'm counting the days until I'm done with school and football so I can have some free time to play an in-depth game like WoW again :D

Lmao that sounds just like wow. Aoe tanking with a pally and aoe burning with a couple locks and mages.

Drak'thorn I think is the name of the server. I have played on a few, started on Gilneas, played on malfurion and kel, thazard for a month
80 shammie/orc/enhanc/ resto when needed (fuserumisa)
80 hunter/troll (fusershunter)
80 mage/ undead/ arcane (fusersmage)
70 DK/ don't know the race (fusersdk)
I know the names suck but hey what ever help me remember. Shammie was the first one I started and went through about 5 names all taken. So i hit random a few time till I found a name that I know no one has and thats how I got Fuserumisa. Well anyway, so yeah if you look at my shammie I play alot so. I love the game plus everyone I meet in the army or other services it seems that they give you them game when you complete basic/AIT, (just a joke). I keep up with a few people that i meet at differnt places plus the game to mee ain't that bad you meet people and play with them on-line. If they know what they are doing you play with them again down the road if not oh well. As far as any other game I don't knock them I just like WOW better. Oh yeah I forgot to say
HORDE IS BETTER!!!!

Wows endgame content does require skill. You must know how to play your class to be successful. And raid bosses require precise tactics or you don't have a dream of downing them

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree here. I used to do 'end gamer contend' in WoW, TBC and WotLK. and during all raids I was watching a series on the other monitor, and if a game doesnt require your full attention, it cant require that much skill either. (I played as protection paladin by the way. :) so yea, I was kinda busy all the time. )
most bosses allow for a fair bit of slacking really, there is no real pressure on most of them. not to mention, gear seems to count for more as skill really.

nevertheless, the game was fun. (but I've kinda got bored of it now, and with my computer beeing broke, I've decided to quit it all together now. :) )

Yeh, well I do and don't.
I made a account and played for a month.
Now I only play once in a while but if I go to a friends house we will play.

Horde, Toruen (however you spell it) hunter. I think lvl 30 with a Praire wolf (something, one of the firsts wolves, kinda small, but I love him) called Grimlock.

i wonder why those that dont play wow tend to hate it so much. it seems like people either play wow or hate wow

most people that didn't play WoW played another mmorpg before, and looked back and said wow I wasted so much time for absolutely nothing. Then they decided they didn't want to make the same mistake with WoW, and try to help people by making them stop playing.

thats pretty much me and why I hate it.
If I ever play a game and start to feel like I'm grinding I force myself to stop

I usually say WoW is like Marmite... you either Love it or you Hate it! lol...

thing is I found about WoW...I loved the game... a lot of fun... yes it did take up a lot of time... but now I dont play it as much I realise that the time it did take up I either now play another game or am just bored... it was a good game for "filling gaps" lol... I dont see it as a waste of time.

To a large extent, WoW eliminates a lot of grinding. I mean, you can grind if you want to, but the thousands and thousands of quests combined with great instanced areas mean you can level all the way to the cap without 'grinding' as such.

And anyway, they always said MMORPGs were designed to give a false sense of achievement - and grinding is one way of doing that.

you dont see pointing and clicking a virtual gun onto someone else a waste of time? I dont see why epople call games like WoW a waste of time, but CoD 4 or halflife for example are completely fine. they're all comeputer games, they all dont help you with anything at all in your life, and they're all just ment to be fun. (agree or be wrong really. :P )

That is really a case of instant gratification versus working a 30 hour a week virtual job. Some people don't want to play games where it seems like you need to put in that much work. Other people are all about that. It really is just a matter of preference.

To each their own. If you like WoW, that's cool. I'm not sure why others would judge an individual on that. We all waste or spend our time in different ways, so whose right is it to say that your time is spent worse than another person? Like Arch said, some people spend hours in meaningless GG sessions in CSS or other FPS games. To some, that's completely worthless, but others would argue that it's time well spent. :D

EDIT: That one guy that has like 38 accounts or whatever, that's a bit strange and I'll even sit on my soapbox and judge him. He's got issues. :P

Like said, I've played WoW for quite a wile, and I've never grinded. All i did was go online for raids, and do some smaller instances for fun (wich gotr me enough in game money to 'pay' for the expenses I had for raids. )
you dont have to put an insane ammount of time into the game, unless you want to. (its not like Eve online, where everytime you die you practically can start over again for example. )

thats just madness!! bit like that guy that spent something like $44,000 to get 1,000,000 gold lol...

(that $44,000 may be exaggerated...cant remember exact amount).
