I have a northwood pentium 4 2.53ghz chip that I would like to overclock. I was wondering what would be the best heatsink and fan to get to get the most out of the chip?
i had a 2.8 Northwood i got it to 3.2 Ghz with stock cooling
Northwood is normally cooler than Prescott
so i guess it's ok to overclock using stock cooling
Because you have a different motherboard. And how far you can OC depends on the types of components you have.
And before you go buying aftermarket cooling equipment, you should check to make sure that your motherboard supports voltage control, otherwise it's rather pointless.

do not post the same thing more than once, you posted this question 3 times, it is really annoying. I have moved the question to the cooling section and given my opinions, discussion will now occur on the following thread http://www.computerforum.com/51941-socket-478-overclocking.html
