Well, if you're not going to upgrade just get 2x512, it'll be cheaper and the performance won't be any worsewell there is no point in leaving room for upgrading.. because the board doesnt read Dual Channel, and if im gonna run to sticks of somethin, its gonna be 2x 512MB... so im still not sure if i should get 1GB or 2x512MB.... hmm ... anyone else got somethin to add to this.. thanks!
Actually when you have the 2 sticks u'd be running CR2 rather than CR1If not overclocking I would go with the 1GB stick leaving more room for upgrading. If you overclocking 2X512 ram might be better because you can get better timming out of it.
Very trueI suppose it possiable to get a 1gb stick with great timing but that going to cost you.
Again about the Command Rateit'll be cheaper and the performance won't be any worse
Same (as what)? It should be comparable to a dual channel board running in single channel modeso it should be tha same even though the Motherboard doesnt read the Dual Channel....

Yes. If you can afford it. 1GB sticks tend to be a bit more expensiveso havin a single stick is better than 2 sticks on a Nondual Channal board because CR1 is better..??
Running 2 DIMMs allows you to run CR1 rule 4 DIMMS tends to mean CR2Does the same hold true for dual channel. same example in your quote but the 2 sticks are running in dual channel. what would be better the single stick or the 2 sticks running in dual channel.
The comparison still stands as the Command Rate latency is present on bothbut the board doesnt read Dual Channel.. im trying to compare the Performance of the board having 2 sticks (dual channel) or a single stick (since the board doesnt read dual channel).... ? hmmm...
1. 2x512 is usually cheaper than 1x1024 and if you dont care about CR2 vs CR1 then its not a bad dealwereas 2*512mb will take 2 banks up whats the point???
