You're comparing two sockets many years apart from each other.

Ditch the Super Socket 7 processor/mobo, and come into 2006.

this is a 754 socket..

super 7 socket has 321 pins..i think
754 socket has 754 pins..so they're not at all compatible.

I would suggest you buy a whole new computer, as it won't be worth upgrading.

im gonna eventually get a new computer next school year (starting septemeber 2006) is my last year of high school so then for collge/university im gonna need my own computer. but till then if i can upgrade this computer to a decent state for like 200-250 buks the most then ill b kinda worth it just so i can use it for that last year then my brother and sister can have a somewhat decent computer to use, not saying its that bad now, like its pretty good for being that old of a system

thats in USD but i live in Canada (Toronto, Ontario) so the price for a new one here is like 600 min from future shop (canada's best buy, best buy is also here but they also own this one) less if you buy a refurb one
