Software for creating own music?

Does anybody know waht kind of software I could get to make my own songs/music? thanks for your time.

So far I've had Magix Music Maker and Dance eJay, and I think eJay's easier, but Magix has way more options, so it depends on what you want to do, Magix is more for professional use where eJay is more for fun

P.S.: eJay also has HipHop\Techno\Rave editions

Just look around on Magix.com, then go to music, there's a kind of music studio, you should be able to do it with that

it aint that bad if you know what you're doing with it, as i said.... all the proffesinals use it so it must be good to some extent, you dont see coldplay composing on the trial version of Dance eJay do you!!!!!!

I like Goldwave. Too bad it's expensive shareware. It's really good though.
