Software placement

Hi All,

When I built this computer about 18 months ago I allocated 100Gb for the Win 7 OS but recently I've noticed that the space on this drive is decreasing all the time (free space is currently about 6Gb).

Whenever I download or add new software I usually allocate it to go to a another drive I have for just programs, however there are a number of these programs that give you no choice and automatically go on to the "C" drive.

I am about to rebuild the machine and am looking at putting Win 8 on a 64Gb SSD and from what I understand there will be no room for any other software if I go this way so I was wondering can anyone suggest a way that I can get all software (other than the OS) onto an alternative drive??

I am currently running win 7 Pro on a X79S-UP5 Mobo with 64Gb of 2400 ram and an I7 3300 CPU,

Thanks

Go with a 120gb or bigger SSD if possible. 64gb is just too small these days. Yeah, some programs will just install to C drive without an option to change directory. Nothing you can really do.
