Software Problems

I have encountered two problems...not sure whether this should go under here or under General Software; admin., please move it to the appropriate location :D thanks...

Firstly, RealPlayer (newest version) will not start normally. It shows the splash screen, but then it freezes as soon as the actual player loads, and after about 2 minutes (still frozen) an error message pops up and would say "Object doesn't support this method" and a line number where the error occured would also be included (c++ library corrupt?)

Secondly, MSN Messenger would freeze and unfreeze periodically. The duration of the freeze is about 2 minutes, and can happen anywhere: when accessing a context menu, a menu, clicking a notification window, or anything associated with the main window open. I've read on another forum about this; apparently it has something to do with the ad banner--Messenger's ad server is very busy and thus creating the freeze every time Messenger decides to refresh the ad.

A virus scan (PC-Cillin) and a spyware scan (Ad-aware + Spybot S&D) show a clean system.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you for all your help in advance.

One suggestion would be to make sure you have cleaned all your temp files out in case one of them is corrupt. Run a disk clean up and then try reinstalling.

Hope this helps.

Try RealAlternative? :)
