Software that blocks sites

Alright, I'm looking for software that blocks internet sites. Something that lets me pick an url and then blocks it for me. I don't even know if such a thing exists;) But I need it. I'm trying to stop visiting some forums and I need some help with that. Addiction

lol
can't you just surround your screen with post it notes reminding you not to visit them
anyway, try http://netnanny.com/ although ti is aimed at children, and it seems very very odd that you would want to block yourself from some sites

hmm.. well, if you are trying to do that, im pretty sure your addiction will cause you to reinstate that link, and unlbock it. so in terms, your probably not gonna stop visiting it anyway.

the best way i can think of right now, is if you have a computer geek friend/family, have them do it while your not there, and hopefully, you will not be able to change or modify it.

an example is zonealarm. it has the password safeguard option. have a friend do it, set the links up. then have it password locked so only HE, not you, can change the setting for the link.

What are these websites? Pornographic?
oh come on...it doesn't necessarily have to be porn. It could be site that keep on coming up like shops, I used to have Kelko or some component shop like that come up when I was on the web.
I use Norton Firewall and it works for me. I'd still like to try McAfee and zonealarm though.

Dude, people can get addicted to just about anything, even Ebay. Geeze, the first thing you think of is "dirty stuff."

That's a good idea. I could do this while I still have some real-life friends left ;) It was a forum I couldn't stop visiting. I just needed a little push. I installed Safety.Net, and it seems to be working. Now it's time to leave before I start hanging around here:rolleyes:
