Software that can write text on photos

Can anyone here let me know what type of software can write text on photos, like putiting a date on the photo. Need a software that can edit and write text on photos.

Microsoft Paint, Gimp, Photoshop... Gimp's probably your best bet if you wish to stay free. It's got lots of other features too.

Bro The Other One can you advise me what kind of software to use for my moving avaters. I have some move avaters but I had forgotten what kind of software to use, thks for your help
