Software to backup files from error external hard drive - no access

Hi,

Whats good software to back up files from my external hard drive that I have in my dock station as it wont let me open it and it says "is not accessible"

If anyone can recommend software to back up my files that would be great!

its my external hard drive that is on my dock, it doesnt have an operating system on it - I cleared it all ages ago, just formatted it with the XP disk, and use it as a file holder thats all, been working fine for about 8 months and just stopped out the blue.
