First check to see if the program has an uninstall option if it has any links in the programs menu. Many smaller programs simply create a desktop shortcut to the executable file and add no values in the system registry. Right click on the desktop icon to delete and also see where the folder is located in the target line will see a manual removal when that folder is deleted. Use the task manager to end any processes related to the program first will help there.
