I'd personally go for the Solid State Drive. Less power consumption, faster start up speeds, no moving parts... idk. It just seems like why would anyone want an HDD if they can afford the SSD.

If that's the HP Mini, I believe the model that Office Depot distributes has a 16GB SSD and a 3 hours battery life. Sure it's going to be faster, and it's going to consume less battery, but you're not going to notice it much on a computer with that little power and small battery life. Not necessarily arguing against it.

The model I bought was the EEE 1000HE, 160GB HDD and 9 hour battery life. At least for what I do, I wouldn't have been able to get away with a 16GB drive, I already used 20. I just installed an extra 1GB RAM and it's fast enough for me.

What I would think would be best would be to buy one of the EEE PC's with the N280 processor and a large 10 hour battery life, and then swap out the HDD for a nice 64GB SSD . . . if you really wanted one. It would run you quite a bit of money though.

If you're gonna be downloading a buttload of stuff, then you may want to consider the HDD, but for fast, long-life drives, go for SSD.
