Some computer questions

Sometime this year, I plan on getting a USB 3.0 2600 series (second generation) computer.

I've tried researching esata drives vs HDD. It appears that esata is faster, but they don't seem to hold as much as HDD (if that's true I'd rather go with USB 3.0 drive). I also plan on getting a SSD for my primary and HDD drives for my secondary.

I welcome further comments on this along with your experience.

Well an SSD for primary, so like your OS, is good. faster boot up etc. and id recommend a 1TB hdd then you know you have enough memory there

in my desktop i have a 32gb SSD to install my OS on because it is fast and then a 80gb drive as secondary to put all my files on

None of what you said makes any sense.

eSATA drives are HDD's (they're the external branch of the SATA BUS). eSATA is indeed faster, and they can be any size you want (especially if you purchase an eSATA enclosure and then put your desired HDD in there). I haven't used a USB 3.0 external, but from what I understand, they're not as fast as SATA.

sadly enough I have never used eSATA, even though I have a port in my I/O panel. But I have a 2TB WD my book external using USB 3.0 and it's amazing. I have always heard USB 3.0s 5Gb/s throughput is far superior compared to eSATA and IEEE 1394. Will dust off the trusty A+ books and check out the throughput on these.

Best Buy runs sales on 3 TB USB 3.0 HDD for $130 (much cheaper than getting a 500 GB drive for $500 when they first came out a few years ago) and they're now selling a 4 TB USB 3.0 drive for $250 (the only advantage to getting a drive of that size is you would be saving on physical space as opposed to getting two 2 TB drives).
