some help please im lost

hi this new comp is not stable at all. it has not been able to play any games at all only for 10 minns or so then freezes up or reboots can you give me a starting point to set then go from there. think it was sent to me a bit oced what should my multiplier be set at and all that kind of stuff so i have something to work with at. right now in AI boster it says cpu 266xmultiplier6? dont want to oc just want to play any ideas? thx alot. intelcore2duo E6400 <conroe> 2.13 asus striker extreme 680i 2x512 patriot in dual chanel

start from the basics. make sure that your cpu isn't over heating for some reason or an other. and also check the ram for compatability issues with the motherboard.
 
An FSB of 266 with a multiplier with 6? That makes just under 1.6GHz, I thinks that the mulitplier has been set too low, the multiplier should be at 8 just to get the stock frequency of 2.13GHz.:eek:
 
could be ram?

ok i set mutliplier to 8 got me to 2.13 kool then tryed to run memtest it turned of my monitor first try after 2 minns second try froze up screen bah try diff mem? could the voltage be set to low?should i try to set it to 2.1? thx again
