some simple question

A pentium 4 Prescott is a type of Pentium 4. Pentium 4 is just a general name, but they have several core names, including the Prescott.
 
it has to do with the core, other cores include prescott, presler, smithfield, yonah, and AMD has about ten times as many, so you really need to ask what the difference between two specific cores or processors is
