Some video card queries

Hi guys,
Im in the market for a new GPU but really dont know what to get.
My current one is a HD 4650 which runs ok.
The thing is my display is a 32" HDTV (not full HD) so my desired resolution is 1280 x 720.
Is it pointless upgrading at this resolution?
if not what would be a suitable card?
one other thing, should i game at 720p or 1080i , i cant really see the difference but im told interlaced is never as good.

Budget?

At that resolution, a 58xx series would be ideal imho.

my budget is around 150 euro, about 200 dollars.
Will want to upgrade before elder scrolls v comes out.
Just dont want to waste money on something fancy if im running at 720 p

I would suggest at that resolution a 5770 would be fine, which can also be overclocked and found very cheaply these days.

Thanks for the advice. I decided to go for the HD 6790.
Found one for 110 euro. Was gonna get a gtx 550 ti but it was more expensive.
Should have no problem getting high fps with this card. My tv is 60 hz so should easily achieve this with AA turned on.
