I have a Dell Dimension XP SP3 and I was disabling some startup programs in msconfig because I can not stand hearing "THIS COMPUTER IS SO SLOW" from everyone in the house. Yes, I am the "Computer B*tch" of the house. I tried selective startup, diagnostic. yadda yadda and I can't connect to the internet. Help me please.

What are you using to connect to the internet? A wireless card perhaps? Sounds like you may have disabled the wlan utlity.
 
You probably disabled Sony's wireless utility. Go back through the list and tell us what they were.
