I have a Lenovo A3000 7" tab and I would like to take the hardware/guts from my LG G3 and put in the tab. The tab is the American version but the India version came with 3G call capability so it has an earpiece speaker and mic on the bottom. I have taken it apart and the MOBO looks the same (as the India ver.) just no SIM and of course no radio. So the places for the goods are on the MOBO so... theoretically it is possible... right???

Yes; I would like to have a 7" phone. Please; go easy on me.

You'll just destroy both in the process

Of course I will. The point or question is, can I successfully remove and replace the parts to make something different than what I started with. I dont use either one right now. I want a 7" tablet that I can use as a phone as well. I looked into models that are already built this way but the problem is my carrier, Big Red. They dont allow non-vzw devices on their network. I feel the only option to be able to use something like a Fonepad would be to reassign the IMEI, something frowned upon by not only authorities but my peers as well. I would be willing to switch carriers but I dont know of one that has mobile download speeds like vzw.

hmm, it sounds like you need to just try it. Its not a commonly done thing, so advice may be pointless.

Just use a sip service and Bluetooth headset. Then you can make calls on your tablet wherever there is WiFi

I want to be able to replace my phone altogether. I am tired of carrying multiple devices. I am actually tinkering with the idea of leaving Verizon for ATT, ATT does not have the coverage or the mobile download speed but I dont have to deal with "only using Verizon devices".
