Something fried?

Well my frineds computer sorta died. His comp froze so he went to go restart it, while he did that there was a little shock that went from his finger to the reset switch. Now his comp will not show a video signal. It looks like it's booting ok, but there is no video at all.

Any help would be great,
Thanks Bob.

No

I think he means that when he starts up the PC, he gets no video signal. I doubt that the spark that he talks about would have caused the problem. It was probably static but I doubt it would cause the problem. It could be many things, but I would single out the following: PSU, CPU or the motherboard. Has he overclocked by any chance?

JAN :D

Well, yes the shock was static. It looks as though everything in the computer is working fine. but we just get not video signal. The gfx card fan spins, if the card was fritzed wouldn't the whole card not work?
Thanks for the help, Bob.

That shock COULD cause a problem, but I doubt it... I'd try another video card, remove some RAM, etc etc... Try to tear it down and run with a bare min.
