Something i dont get.

Hey everyone this question is not totally related to computers but it still needs to be asked. I have been searching around on ebay for parts for my pc and i have come across some that say something like this: This product is brand new, but the box has been opened. I was curious as to why sellers would open the item and then sell it as brand new. The specific item i am considering is a psu. Should i trust this buyer and go for it or should i assume they are lying and stay away. Also is there any way that i can test the psu to make absolutely sure that its brand new?

Could be an open box return kinda sale. My boss bought a whole bunch of opened HP webcams that were described as "returns not working", but in fact the original purchaser just didn't know how to load the driver correctly.

As far as trusting it, that is totally up to you. Just double check their return policy and their feedback.

Don't know. your call.
My self i always request new, and unopened.
Also look at how many items sold.
you will also find feedback. Who was happy and who was not.

Im going for it, i asked the guy why it was opened and his story seemed valid enough for me. Plus its a fairly good discount.

ok.
if your happy thats good enough.
My wife has sold about 5,000 items.
thats what she does. i would also use a paypal account.
DO NOT : tie to your personal checking account.
Open a separate account.
Deposit a hundred or what ever. keep it separate.
cheers......
