Something in the XP registry

I just ran a registry fixer on XP and now when I try to open .pdf or .word files a windows installer pops up and minimizes. I can't load the .pdf because that stupid installer...and to make it worst the installer doesn't even install! It just pops up and then goes away. What to do?
 
Are you seeing any specific message with the installer? You could try using a system restore in order to correct this. That will bring you back a few days.
 
Depending on your registry tool, check if it backed up your registry data. Most better more reliable registry tools have this option. Check on yours if it does, and if it did, restore your registry to it's previous.
 
but if I do that then the license will come back then I won't be able to use my "cracked" program and the files I've used to make with it will go away...
 
try this:
open my computer-tools-files option-files type
create new file types as .pdf or .doc,and relate them to the programs which can open them.
